Rational Level Design

Why? 
  • Help to think the game and level design with a more systematic approach and to clarify the mecanics

  • Useful to optimize a game mechanic and create variations (do more with less)

  • Important to balance the gameplay and the player's progression

  • Communicate more effectively

How it works?

We calculate the difficulty scale of the different game elements (immobile obstacle, immobile and lethal obstacle, mobile and lethal obstacle) according to the skills required to perform them​

We then calculate the cumulative difficulty based on the difficulty scale
