Get Away Sue

Genre: point-and-click macabre game
Team: 5 members
Time development: 2 months (full time)

Pitch: Sue, a tidy woman, is trapped inside a macabre and grimsly dollhouse.  The Jailor, her possessive husband, turned her into a doll in order to keep her under his control. Find the ingredients you need to make your way out of this jail and escape from the gaze of your omniscient gaoler.

What I did: 

​

 

  • Define the players objectives (find the ingredients to grow up and then destroy Sue's doll-house prison, with a reference to Alice in Wonderland. She emancipates herself from her abusive husband thanks to a skill often associated with womanhood and often despised: cooking and daily chores!)

  • Define the win and failure conditions

  • Propose game concept while respecting specifications

  • Create a macabre gameplay by twisting a Sims-like management game

  • Create the narrative structure of the game

  • Document on power dynamics + how to emancipate from a toxic, mysoginistic relationship

  • Define the 3C

  • Create encounters with the antagonist to create a stressful atmosphere

  •  I coded the entire verticle slice in C# in Unity !
